Financed a 2026 Ram Rebel with the Hurricane Engine and CEL came on with less than 300 miles with code P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) 'A' Flow Excessive Detected. Took it to the dealer, didn't find any issues, cleared the code and I was on my way. Driving the truck with 419 miles, the CEL came on again with the same code P0402. Took it to a different Ram dealer and they inspected but was unable fully diagnose the issue. Tech stated that the procedure called for combustion chemical cleaner to be applied but he also stated that many techs are seeing that the cleaning is not clearing the code and many are finding that the Mass Air Flow sensor needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, both the cleaner and MAF sensor are on back order and are about 45 days out. Sucks to be dealing with these issues on a brand new vehicle. This is my first Ram/Stellantis product.

Has anyone dealt with code P0402 this early in ownership? Did your engine run any different? Mine doesn't. If so, what was the remedy? How long did it take to repair? Has the code reappeared?

I have not had a code yet, neither have other Ram folks I know in my circle but I did find this on the groups.

1 guy had a bad catalytic converter as root cause. 1 had CAI that caused it, he swapped back to stock intake. Some are unresolved like yours with multiple code clears.

Very odd, it did not seem like a lot of people affected, I wonder if it's going to be something that comes up more often as these trucks age. Time will tell.

Here's another post I found, one guy had bad EGR cooler. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1230630848384955/permalink/1830750011706366/

One fixed with "Had mine in for that and they reprogrammed the PCM. Hasn’t came on since".
