Hey! I need your help making a decision I currently have a 2024 1500 with 5.3 in it. I want to get a more robust and reliable vehicle truck. Something I can put on 200,000 miles without issues. I do duck hunt quite a bit. Also do a lot of road trips with family and camping so I definitely need something that is full-size. I’m tossed between getting a 1500 or a 2500 if I was to ask your opinion on what truck I should get what would you recommend and what engine? i’ve been considering RAM 2500 with a Cummins in it or in the 1500 category the RAM RHO but once again I want to get something more reliable than my GM.
Decision between 1500 or 2500

That’s a tough one. Do you do a lot of heavy towing and need more than 1/2 ton payload? If you don’t do a lot of heavy towing, I would stay away from diesel, but that’s just me.
You could still get a 2500 with gas engines if you want a little more rigid truck and better payload.

But in your opinion, what is more most reliable pick at the most not including mid size. I don’t have any heavy towing at the moment, but I might get a trailer in the future, but not for a while.

I think the gas versions of the heavy duty are the most reliable right now. If you want pure fun, factor the RHO tows like a three-quarter ton and rides much nicer, it does lack payload though. CTECH Review on YouTube has some great videos on the RHO towing, he absolutely loves it all around.

So far the RHO has been pretty good but it hasn’t been out that long. Barry from CTECH Review and TRD Jon really like theirs. Tim from Pickup truck talk likes his as well.
