Regarding the high pressure fuel pump recall on Accord, Accord Hyb, CRV etc. Supposedly the procedure for preparing NEW UNSOLD dealer stock for testing is to idle the engine for 12+ hours before the test can be performed. Idling a brand new engine for that amount of time goes against EVERY company who has a statement about engine break-in recommendation. 12 hrs of idling before the new owner takes delivery? There’s gonna be some oil-burners from rings not seating properly! Likely no disclosure about the practice to potential buyers, no indication due to odometers not registering idle time, and little if any understanding from the general public about the nature of what happened to their $30-45K vehicle before they even took delivery. Absolutely inexcusable.

Wow that is ridiculous. Just checked out the video....thank you for posting here, I can't believe they are doing that but I suppose it shouldn't surprise me from what I have seen from Toyota and others recently.
