Hey Car Guy - your latest video on infotainment challenges made me want to share my story.
A few weeks ago I purchased a slightly used 2025 RAM Big Horn Lvl 2 with the hurricane engine. Truck had 8,000 miles on it, I paid in the low 40's. I loved everything about it, awesome features for the price (4A, heated steering wheel, Hurricane/ZF, etc.) Definitely felt nicer than the F150 XLT's and cheaper by a long shot.
Just 2 days later I started getting these annoying "Uconnect Error - see dealer" error messages on the infotainment. Sometimes right away when I started the truck, and sometimes every few minutes while driving. The infotainment seems to keep working minus the same skipping issue you noted in your video, but the error message was pretty damn annoying.
I figured it wasn't a huge deal, just bring it into the dealer for warranty service. Unfortunately, I was surprised to learn this is a known issue with many '25's and even '26's with no fix. There was a STAR case opened in November telling dealerships to stop replacing the hardware because its not solving the issue, and everyone is supposed to wait for a software update sometime in Q2 2026.
That's totally unacceptable in my book, and since I was still in my return window with the dealership I turned in the keys. Its a shame because I liked everything else about the truck, but knowingly keeping something with proven infotainment errors and no short term fix seems a little crazy. Oh well, back to Ford I guess (who I am well aware is also not perfect).
The value of RAM was super appealing, but I am not going back after this experience. Hopefully you don't run into similar issues.
